About the Festival

- a celebration of backcountry people, travel & culture -

2017 offers people the chance to try ski touring & splitboarding, check out the latest equipment developments, try new gear, join a beginners lesson, skills training session, avalanche awareness workshop, meet new touring partners and go ride some of NZ’s best terrain.

About the Festival

Splitfest gives people access to skills and information, a chance to try splitboarding, and a gathering to meet new contacts and touring partners to grow the sport and promote safe backcountry travel.

To encourage maximum participation the registration fee is set at the minimum to cover event running costs. We have scoured the country for instructors, presenters, and gear specialists to bring you a range of incredible value workshops, demos, and other events!

Splitfest is brought to you thanks to our dedicated crew who share their skills and experiences to make the festival happen. Thanks to our sponsors there is a stack of prizes up for grabs too!
